Final Year Project

Project Title

How does disability (hearing, visual, memory, communication, and walking) impact education of individuals based on level of education attained and the time, in number of years, it took to complete those years.

Description

This project uses data from the Pakistan Social and Living Standards Measurement (PSLM) Survey 2019-2020, conducted by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The survey tracks socio-economic indicators at the district level with urban-rural breakdowns, including disability and ICT modules added in 2016. While crucial for policy-making, the data suffers from quality issues, inconsistencies, and biases. Using STATA, we clean the data for better accessibility. The research examines how disabilities affect primary education attainment - specifically grades completed and time taken. Six disability types are analyzed through regression models. Results are presented using descriptive and inferential statistics, offering conclusions and improvement suggestions for more reliable policy insights.
